PARENTING SESSION

PARENTING WORKSHOP AT GURU NANAK PUBLIC SCHOOL, PUNJABI BAGH
A parenting workshop was organized on 20th Oct.,2012 facilitated by Dr. Dhaarna Bhardwaj, Consultant Psychologist, targeting Primary, Middle and Secondary groups.  The goal of the workshop for primary section was to help parents understand the important role discipline plays in child development and strategies were suggested for creating discipline and setting boundaries in the family while strengthening parent-child relationships. This session would help children be confident and find success throughout life and a variety of discipline techniques were explained that can be immediately implemented at home.  The goal of session for the Middle Section was to help parents understand Peer Pressure  and how powerful Positive Peer Pressure can be in shaping positive behaviours and influence the kids who are bullying to straighten up and act right.  The goal for the session for the secondary group was to sensitize the parents towards exam stress and help their teenagers manage exam nerves, improve revision and reduce exam stress.  The workshop is part of a series of events covering all aspects of parenting with the emphasis on helping them connect with their futures and motivate themselves to succeed.

Students of classes 8-10 are painting HERITAGE SITES OF INDIA , U.K. & JAPAN using different materials such as chart-paper, cards & plastic plates.They' re making beautiful folders, brochures, cards, etc.( outline sketching, painting, penwork)

UNESCO CLUB ACTIVITY


.PROJECT- VISIT TO TANGIBLE HERITAGE SITES

To bring awareness amongst school children about their rich cultural-heritage  and to develop a sense of pride & belongingness to the place where they live or were born, a survey cum contest for the students titled 'Treasure of my Town/village/ City' was organised as part of the UNESCO Club activity.

Children under the supervision & guidance of school teachers visited historical Gurdwara Sri  Guru Ka Taal at Agra and talked to people in the vicinity to identify the unique and distinctive historical background of the Gurdwara and also collected information from different sources. They also visited  Mariam Tomb, Sikandara Fort  and Taj Mahal.
